Jonah Gonzales is a visual artist and designer based in Houston, Texas. His work is shaped by a lifelong mix of influences including sports, graffiti, music, art, architecture, and film.

After studying Communication Design at Texas State University, Jonah began his career at Formation in Houston, working on large-scale environmental and experiential projects for clients such as Texas Children’s Hospital and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. That experience grounded him in physical space and how design functions at scale.

He later joined Mouth Watering Media, now MWM.Partners, where his practice expanded across branding, motion, web, software, photography, and film. Working with organizations including Houston Methodist, Houston Botanic Garden, Houston Airport Systems, and the Ion District sharpened his ability to move fluidly between disciplines while keeping communication clear and intentional.

Alongside his design career, Jonah’s art practice developed as a more personal outlet. His mixed media work blends digital and hands-on processes, often beginning with photographs or earlier artwork that are edited digitally, then printed, scanned, cut, and rebuilt using collage, ink, and paint. The process is layered, intuitive, and intentionally imperfect.

His practice is rooted in storytelling through process. Imperfections and disrupted forms are treated as part of the narrative rather than something to resolve. His work has been presented in both digital and physical formats and is available for exhibitions, commissions, and gallery collaborations.
