Bio
Jonah Gonzales is an Art Director and visual artist based in Houston, Texas. He currently works as an Art Director at Dick’s Sporting Goods, contributing to seasonal campaigns, internal branding, and creative development across the brand.
His background spans branding, environmental design, motion, web, photography, film, and experiential design. Influenced by sports, graffiti, music, art, architecture, and film, his work draws from a wide range of references and perspectives. He enjoys working across disciplines and finding new ways to approach a problem rather than relying on the same solution twice.
His art practice plays a big part in that approach. Working between digital and physical processes, he uses photography, painting, collage, ink, and digital manipulation to create work that is constantly evolving. Every piece starts differently, and the process is often just as important as the final result. That freedom to experiment has shaped his approach to design, allowing him to push ideas further and explore possibilities outside of traditional design methods.
At the same time, experimentation always has a purpose. Whether developing a campaign, building a brand, or making something personal, he believes good creative should have a reason behind it. The goal is to explore widely, make intentional decisions, and ultimately create work that feels right for the idea, the audience, and the brand.
